Central Bohemia

The Central Bohemian Region is located in the heart of Bohemia. By its size and number of municipalities, it is one of the largest regions in the Czech Republic. Its area forms almost 14% of the territory of Czechia.


The region completely surrounds the capital city of Prague and borders almost all other Bohemian regions. The landscape varies from the flat Elbe lowlands in the north to the highlands in the south and southwest. The highest point is the Brdy peak Tok, the lowest is the surface of the Elbe in the Mělník district.
