Modern Zlín was shaped by the Baťa shoe company, which built a functionalist town of red brick and concrete around its headquarters skyscraper. A former factory complex now houses a museum and gallery, Zoo Lešná with its chateau lies on the edge of the city, and Zlín hosts a film festival for children and young people.
