Šumava (Bohemian Forest)

(German: Böhmerwald) is an extensive mountain range on the borders of the Czech Republic, Austria, and German Bavaria. The German side is sometimes called the Bavarian Forest. The highest mountain of Šumava is Grosser Arber in Germany (1456 m); on the Czech side of the border, it is Plechý (1378 m).

Krušné hory (Ore Mountains)

(German: Erzgebirge) is a mountain range in northwestern Bohemia along the border with Germany. It forms a continuous mountain range about 130 km long, with most of it located in Saxony. The northern boundary of this area is the national border between the Czech Republic and Germany. The highest peak is Klínovec (1244 m).

Jizerské hory (Jizera Mountains)

(German: Isergebirge, Polish: Góry Izerskie) are the northernmost mountain range in the Czech Republic. The mountains were named after the Jizera River, which springs on the slopes of Smrk, the highest mountain in the Czech part of the range. A substantial part of the mountains is located in Poland, where the highest peak, Wysoka Kopa (1126 m), is located.

Krkonoše (Giant Mountains)

(Polish: Karkonosze, German: Riesengebirge) is the highest mountain range in the Czech Republic and the entire Sudetes massif. The highest mountain is Sněžka (1602 m). The Giant Mountains form a natural watershed between the North and Baltic Seas. The Krkonoše National Park (KRNAP) is located here.

Orlické hory (Eagle Mountains)

(Polish: Góry Orlickie, German: Adlergebirge) is a mountain range in northeastern Bohemia, near the border with Poland. The highest peak is Velká Deštná (1115 m). The name of the mountain range is derived from the Orlice River. A popular hiking trail called Jiráskova cesta leads along the ridge.

Jeseníky

Hrubý Jeseník is the dominant mountain range of Silesia and part of northern Moravia. The highest mountain is Praděd (1491 m). The ski locations here are among the longest-visited in the Czech Republic due to the richest snow conditions.

Beskydy and Hostýnské hory

A mountain range located in northeastern Moravia in the Wallachia region, extending into southern Poland and northern Slovakia. Beskydy are mostly forested mountains with rounded peaks. The highest peak is Babia hora (1725 m) lying on the border between Poland and Slovakia.
